Two more suspects in six-year-old girl's killing in Trincomalee shot dead

Mar 31, Colombo: Two more suspects charged with the killing of six-year-old Warsha Jude in Trincomalee, were shot dead by the LTTE today in Trincomalee, the police said.
The Police said that when they opened fire at a suspected group of LTTE cadres, the two murder suspects were caught in the crossfire and got killed. During the fire fighting, two policemen were also injured.
It is not yet clear how the murder suspects got involved in a crossfire with LTTE cadres.
Earlier, the police shot and killed the main suspect in connection with the abduction and killing of Warsha in an escape attempt from police custody while another suspect committed suicide by taking a cyanide capsule.
Last month a group of men abducted Warsha from her school and killed her when a ransom demand of 30 million rupees was not met.
