* Sri Lanka Police after UPFA MP Sarana Gunawardena

Mar 31, Colombo: Sri Lanka Police are looking for Gampaha District United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) MP Sarana Gunawardena, who has allegedly fired in the air and abducted a 12-year-old student after beating his father.

A complaint made at Weeragula police station stated that the MP had entered a house in Yakkala, Gampaha, by force, fired in the air, beaten the father and abducted the 12-year-old student.

The police are looking to apprehend the suspect for offences of unlawful entry, terrorizing, causing death threats using fire arms, assaulting with a fire arm, causing grave injuries and the abduction of a child.
