Sri Lanka government is spreading election violence, says UNP

Mar 29, Colombo: Sri Lanka main opposition United National Party (UNP) today blamed the government saying that they are attempting to spread election violence throughout the Western Province.
Speaking to the media, spokesman of the UNP, parliamentarian Gayantha Karunathilaka said that the government should be responsible for all the election violations taking place in the Western Province during the pre election period.
According to the UNP spokesman government is attempting to spread the election violence since they know that they could not win the polls in the WPC to be held on April 25th.
MP Karunathilaka said the government is trying to attack all the major political parties, not only the UNP to win this election in any manner.
The main opposition challenged the government to win the election by going in the democratic stream if they could.
