* Sri Lanka requires registering Ministers' arrivals and departures at workplace
Saturday, March 28, 2009, 14:38 GMT, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Mar 28, Colombo: The Sri Lanka Cabinet of Ministers decided that the use of Finger Scanning Machines (FSM) to register arrivals and departures at government and semi-government institutions will apply even to Ministers.

A special Cabinet paper by Public Administration and Home Affairs Minister Dr. Sarath Amunugama for this purpose was approved by the Cabinet. The policy will apply to state employees, ministers, ministerial staff, ministry secretaries and heads of departments.

Already a special circular was issued to every government and semi-government institution earlier this week. About 3.5 million employees will be affected.
