Sri Lankan fishermen in Indian waters arrested again

Mar 22, Colombo: Indian Coast Guards have arrested another group of Sri Lankan fishermen yesterday evening for entering Indian waters illegally.
Sri Lankan Deputy High Commissioner for India P.M Amza said that a group of 9 fishermen had been arrested two boats that belong to the fishermen had been seized in the South Indian Sea last evening.
The group would be forwarded to the Indian Joint Interrogation Committee next week for further inquiries, Deputy High Commissioner informed.
The arrested Sri Lankan fishermen currently are in the custody of Chennai police department.
Sri Lankan government has repeatedly warned the fishermen not to stray into the Indian waters as the incidents pose problems for the relations between the two countries.
