Mar 18, Colombo: The Chief Magistrate of Colombo today granted permission to the Crime Division to retain and question the chief editor of the leading Tamil news paper "Sudar Oli", N. Vidyatharan who was arrested by the police last month.

When the case was heard this morning before the Colombo Chief Magistrate the Crime Division informed the Courts that they are still investigating the telephone calls made by the chief editor Vidyatharan.

The police asked for more time to investigate the overseas telephone calls the suspect made and the ones he received from overseas.

The journalist was arrested last month by the police over the failed LTTE air attack on Colombo.
