Wednesday, March 18, 2009, 14:18 GMT, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Mar 18, Colombo: Indian Coast Guard has arrested another group of Sri Lankan fishermen yesterday evening for entering Indian waters illegally.

Sri Lankan Deputy High Commissioner for India P.M Amza said that a group of 5 fishermen has been arrested with their boat. They have been handed over to the local police in the area for further inquiries.

According to the Deputy High Commissioner 111 Sri Lankan fishermen and 20 boats are currently in Indian custody.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka government is planning to send a special representative to get another 51 fishermen who were arrested by the Indian authorities last week near the Andaman and Nikobar islands released.

Sri Lanka on Monday urged its fishermen not to enter into Indian waters as it would lead to problems between the two countries.
