Mar 16, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Meteorology Department yesterday said the country is currently experiencing Inter-monsoonal showers in the evenings.

It ruled out a depression in the atmosphere being the cause of it, but said the showers are brought on by winds blowing across the island. It further said that there is no change in the temperature experienced. Colombo has recorded an average temperature of 31 celsius.

During the last few days, most of the area in the country is experiencing heavy rain showers especially in the afternoon.

Met department also said that thundershowers will develop at several places in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva and North Central provinces during the afternoon or evening.
