* Another shipment of food items sent to IDPs in Sri Lanka

Jan 08, Vavuniya: Sri Lankan government with the assistance of World Food Program (WFP) today dispatched another convoy of 62 trucks carrying essential food items to be delivered to the displaced people in Wanni region.

Minister of Disaster Management and Relief Assistance Risath Bathiyutheen said the shipment contained essential food items, including wheat flour, sugar, dhal, rice and coconut oil.

According to the Minister these food items are to be distributed among the IDPs in Mullaitivu tomorrow through the Government Agent of the Mullaitivu District.

The Minister further added that there is no shortage of essential food items in Wanni at the moment.
