Jan 06, Pannipitiya: An unidentified gang attacked the MTV/MBC complex, a leading Sri Lankan TV and Radio station at Depanama in Pannipitiya again early this morning.

According to the sources an armed gang of about 20 forcibly entered the station complex at about 2:10 a.m. and completely damaged the Main Control Room and all the computers in the complex and set the control room on fire.

Security personnel of the station have lodged a complaint at the Maharagama police immediately, but the police failed to reach the site quickly, said Susil Kindelpitiya, News Director MTV/MBC.

The fire, erupted in the main control room following the attack caused heavy damages.

Three security personnel of the station have been injured in the attack.

This was the second attack on the MTV/MBC complex within five days. An unidentified gang attacked the station with a petrol bomb on last Friday.
