* NFF to sit with the ruling party in Sri Lanka parliament

Jan 06, Colombo: National Freedom Front (NFF), the breakaway group of the Sri Lanka's Marxist Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna, backed by the ruling party is to sit on the government side in the parliament this morning.

The parliament is to convene this morning to debate the extension of Emergency Law for another month.

According to the NFF sources the eleven MPs of the party will cross over to the government side in the parliament and take the seats.

The eleven MPs who are now in the opposition side last week signed a memorandum of understanding with the government promising to support the President.
