Jan 06, Colombo: Some jubilant people today celebrated the recent victory of capturing Kilinochchi by security forces at Polduwa junction near the parliament as the House was meeting this morning.

A large number of people including Western Province Governor Alavi Moulana and Buddhit monks have joined the celebrations.

The people strongly opposed some announcements made by the opposition parliamentarians belittling the victories of government forces.

However the opposition leader Ranil Wickremasinghe lodged a complaint to the Speaker of the parliament saying that MPs who were on their way to the parliament have faced severe difficulties due to the gathering.
