Jan 03, Colombo: Sri Lankan government today asked the people to hoist the national flag in each house and state institute on Monday to pay tribute to those soldiers who sacrificed their lives and who are still fighting for the nation.
According to the government sources the national flag should be hoisted at 8:30 a.m. and a two-minute silence is to be observed at 8:35 a.m. local time.
The government said the entire victories in the Northern battlefield were achieved by the sacrifices made by the valiant soldiers of the security forces for the country.
It is a responsibility of the people in this country to pay their respects to the soldiers at this moment, the government pointed out.
