Jan 30, Colombo: Sri Lanka Navy in a pre-dawn attack today destroyed an explosive laden LTTE suicide boat in the seas off Mullaitivu coast, the Navy reported.

Naval craft on patrol in the Mullaitivu seas had intercepted the LTTE suicide boat launched from Mullaitivu and directed heavy gun fire at the LTTE craft destroying it.

The Navy has a massive blockade set up around the Eastern coast to prevent the senior Tiger leaders from escaping.

According to the naval sources the mega barricade consists of around more than twenty-five (25) Fast Attack Craft, Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs), Gun Boats and Rapid Action Boat Squadron (RABS).
