Jan 30, Colombo: Several main roads in Sri Lanka capital Colombo are scheduled to be closed from tomorrow for the rehearsals in upcoming Independence Day celebrations to be held on February 4th at the Galle Face green.

Police spokesman Senior Superintendent of Police Ranjith Gunasekara said that Galle Road beyond Kollupitiya Junction up to the Ceramic Junction and the road from Slave Island Junction towards Galle Road will be closed from 5am to 1pm each day.

The police urged the drivers to use alternate roads to prevent traffic congestions that will result from the road closure.
