* This year's Independence Day celebrations as a one nation, Sri Lanka government says

Jan 29, Colombo: The 61st Independence Day of the country on February 4th will be celebrated as a one country, Sri Lanka government minister Susil Premajayantha said.

Speaking at a press briefing held in Colombo this morning the Minister said the forces will redeem every inch of land in the possession of LTTE before the Independence Day.

The Minister said that only few more square kilo meters is left to liberate from the possession of the rebels in Mullaitivu district.

The government hopes that the forces would finish this battle by liberating every inch before the February 4th, he added.

Sri Lanka government is planning to celebrate this year's Independence Day in a grand style with the backdrop of huge military victories at the Galle Face grounds in Colombo.
