* Sri Lanka's cricket captain to make another milestone

Jan 02, Colombo: Making another milestone in his career Sri Lankan cricket captain Mahela Jayewardene is preparing for his 100th Test match when the Sri Lankan team meets Bangladesh tomorrow for the second Test match.

Mahela, 31 year old charismatic Sri Lankan captain with a fine technique registered his name in national squad in 1997 and he was selected as the captain in 2006.

He played his debut Test match against India at Colombo in Aug 1997. He holds the Sri Lankan record for highest individual single innings runs with 374.

In his Test career Mahela has scored 7,926 runs in 99 matches and it is the highest Test runs a Sri Lankan batsman has ever scored.

As a bowler Mahela has also claimed 4 wickets in these 99 test matches.
