Jan 16, Vavuniya: Sri Lankan government with the assistance of World Food Program (WFP) today dispatched another convoy of 59 trucks carrying essential food items to the displaced people in Wanni region.

Essential Services Commissioner General S.B Divaratne said the food items are to be dispatched among the IDPs at Puthukkudyiruppu in Wanni.

The shipment contained essential food items, including wheat flour, sugar, dhal, rice and coconut oil, he added.

According to the Essential Services Commissioner General another lot of essential food items are to be distributed among the IDPs in Mullaitivu within the next few days.
