Jan 12, Colombo: Announcing the cheapest mobile rates in the country Bharti Airtel Lanka, a subsidiary of the Indian telecom giant Bharti Airtel, one of Asia's leading integrated telecom services launched its services in Sri Lanka today.
The fifth cellular operator in Sri Lanka, Bharti Airtel published their tariff package this morning with totally free incoming call charges.
According to the CEO of Bharti Airtel Sri Lanka, Amalie Nanayakkara, the outgoing charges for Airtel is Rs. 2.00 per minute until March 31st and thereafter it will be increased to Rs. 2.50 per minute.
At the beginning Airtel will cover only five provinces in Sri Lanka. The company hopes to spread their services in Uva and North Central provinces in the near future.
The company has invested US $ 200 million for its operations in Sri Lanka over the next five years.
