Jan 01, Colombo: Lionel Fernando, a leading civil servant in the country has presented the letter of accreditation as Ambassador, Permanent Delegate of Sri Lanka to UNESCO in Paris yesterday.
Foreign Affairs Ministry announced that Lionel Fernando has presented the letter to Koïchiro Matsuura, Director-General of UNESCO at its Headquarters during a special meeting with him.
Following the presentation of credentials, they have held a brief discussion on UNESCO activities.
Sri Lanka is a member of the UNESCO Executive Board.
