ICRC to evacuate another group of sick and wounded civilians

Feb 28, Trincomalee: The International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) with the assistance of Sri Lanka Navy is to evacuate another batch of sick and wounded civilians by sea from Puttumatalan area in Mullaitivu to Trincomalee.
Ms. Sarasi Wijeratne, spokesperson for the ICRC in Sri Lanka said that they are scheduled to bring another 400 civilians from the embattled area in Mullaitivu to Trincomalee Hospital.
According to the spokesperson the civilians are to be ferried by the 'Green Ocean' vessel.
This is the sixth batch of sick and wounded civilians the ICRC is to evacuate to Trincomalee.
The ICRC has already evacuated 1,996 civilians to the Trincomalee Hospital by the sea route.
