Sri Lanka health services provides scanning facilities at welfare centers for fleeing pregnant women

Feb 27, Vavuniya: Sri Lanka Health Ministry has taken measures to provide ultrasound scanning facilities to fleeing pregnant women who reach the government controlled areas.
Dr. Ajith Mendis, Director General of Health Services said that they have planned to send few ultrasound scanning machines to the IDP welfare centers in Vavuniya.
A group of specialists will also be sent to those welfare centers to carry out the services to pregnant women at the centers.
According to the Director General of Health Services the government has already provided Three Posha (a nutritional supplement), iron supplements and vitamins for those pregnant women in welfare centers.
Government statistics reveals that nearly 750 pregnant women have already reached the welfare centers in Vavuniya.
