Import tax on milk powder increased in Sri Lanka
Friday, February 27, 2009, 14:21 GMT, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka. Feb 27, Colombo: Sri Lanka government has raised the import tax on milk powder with immediate effect. Minister of Consumer Affairs Bandula Gunawardena said the committee for controlling the cost of living today decided to increase this import tax by Rs. 20 to a current rate of Rs.55. Although the tax was increased the prices of milk powder in local market will not goes up, Minister Gunawardena assured.
