Leading businessman in Sri Lanka, Lalith Kothalawela remanded

Feb 26, Mt. Lavinia: The Mount Lavinia magistrate today remanded Ceylinco Group Chairman Lalith Kothalawela over the alleged fraud at the collapsed Golden Key Credit Card Company.
When the case related to the fraud at Golden Key Credit Card Company was heard this afternoon Mount Lavinia magistrate Harsha Setunga ordered to remand the suspect until March 11.
Additionally, the Magistrate issued a warrant for Lalith Kothalawela's wife, Cicile Kothalawela rejecting a medical certificate submitted on behalf of her.
Mount Lavinia Court also issued a 10-day ultimatum to settle the dues of the Golden Key Credit Card Company depositors, worth of Rs. 26 billion.
The other directors of the failed company, Padma Nandini Kumari, Chief Operating Officer of Golden Key and Personnel Assistant to Deputy Chairman Khavan Perera are already in remand custody.
