Two ferried civilians succumbed to injuries at Sri Lanka hospital

Feb 26, Trincomalee: Two of the civilians evacuated and admitted to the Trincomalee Hospital by the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) have succumbed to their injuries on Tuesday night, the Police said.
Police spokesman Senior Superintendant of Police Ranjith Gunasekara said a thirteen year old girl and a woman have died at the hospital last night.
According to hospital sources, 224 civilians admitted to the Trincomalee Hospital on Tuesday night were wounded. Among those wounded civilians were 79 males, 69 females, and 76 children.
The civilians were admitted to the hospital following their evacuation on Tuesday Night by the ICRC over the sea with the assistance of Sri Lankan Navy.
ICRC ferried a total of 390 sick and wounded persons to the Trincomalee Hospital from rebel-controlled Puttumatalan in Mullaitivu.
