Feb 11, Trincomalee: Two foreign nationals worked for an International Non Government Organization (INGO) in Trincomalee drowned today as their vehicle drove off the ferry on midway to Muttur in Trincomalee, the police said.
According to the police the two aid workers who were inside their jeep on the ferry had started its engine to switch on the air-conditioning without realizing the vehicle was on gear.
The vehicle had moved off the ferry drowning the two officials, police said.
The bodies were found by the divers and currently they are lying at Kinniya Hospital in Trincomalee.
The identity of the two aid workers is not known yet.
