* LP gas prices go up again in Sri Lanka

Apr 30, Colombo: The domestic LP gas prices in Sri Lanka are to increase once again with effect from midnight today.

According to the price revisions the price of a 12.5 kg gas cylinder of Shell Gas Lanka will increase by Rs. 191.00 while the Laugfs Gas goes up by Rs. 238.00.

Speaking to the media Consumer Affairs Minister Bandula Gunawardena said that the government has granted approval to increase the domestic gas prices according to price revision every two months.

The two gas companies stressed that they need a price increase as the price of domestic cooking gas has gone up in the world market.

The current price of a refilled Shell domestic cylinder is Rs. 1,309 while that of a Laugfs cylinder is Rs.1,069.
