Apr 30, Mount Lavinia: Mount Lavinia Magistrate Courts today extended the interim order against Sunday Leader newspaper preventing it from carrying out a news item on Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

When the case was heard this morning the Additional Magistrate of Mount Lavinia Courts ordered to extend the interim order until May 19th.

The Court further ordered the defendants to submit their objections over the interim order, if any, by May 15th.

Sri Lanka Courts imposed the interim order on Sunday Leader newspaper following a petition filed by the Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa against the paper saying that the paper has maliciously insulted him by publishing a false report on 8th September in 2008.
