* Tell the truth to country, Sri Lanka Opposition says

Apr 29, Colombo: Four main opposition political parties in Sri Lanka yesterday asked the government to disclose whether they have called a ceasefire or not.

Issuing a special joint release the main opposition United National Party, Sri Lanka Muslim Congress, the Peoples Faction of Sri Lanka Freedom Party and Western People's Front have asked the government to summon the parliament and disclose the actual situation to the country.

If the government is unable to summon the parliament immediately, President Mahinda Rajapaksa should reveal the actual situation of ceasefire to the country, the release said.

The four political parties have questioned the government over the halting of operations in North saying it was doubtful.

The release said that the opposition believes the battles in the war front were halted by the government as a result of the pressure from by international community.
