Apr 27, Colombo: The United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Sir John Holmes met Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa this evening at the Temple Trees to discuss the humanitarian situation in the North.

Sir Holmes was accompanied by the UN Country Representative, Neil Buhne. Ministers Rohitha Bogollagama and Mahinda Samarasinghe, President's Secretary Lalith Weeratunga, Foreign Secretary Palitha Kohona and Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa also participated in the discussions.
