Sept 08, Colombo: Sri Lanka state is to bring new laws to facilitate recovering taxes overdue for long periods of time.
The act drafted in this regard has been approved by the Cabinet of Ministers and it has now been sent to Attorney General's Department to verify the constitutionality.
Treasury sources said that the government intends to table the bill in the parliament soon.
Many enterprises and individuals of Sri Lanka have failed to pay taxes of billions of rupees to the government for long periods as long as fifty years.
