Sept 05, Colombo: Disaster Management Center of Sri Lanka says they are ready to face any emergency situation caused by the heavy thunder showers island wide.
Keerthi Ekanayaka, National Coordinator for Disaster Management Center said all the district centers are on duty throughout the day to get information. He added that all the instructions had been given to the public to prepare for emergency situations.
According to the sources there are no reports in any part of the country regarding the disasters yet.
Meteorology Department of Sri Lanka expects the heavy showers to fall tomorrow at some parts of the country as thunderstorms are developing tonight. According to the Meteorology Department there will be showers at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in Galle and Matara districts as well.
Highest rain fall for the last 24 hours was reported in Bandarawela city with 47.5 mm.
