Sri Lanka::
* Sri Lanka is facing a water crisis again
Monday, September 29, 2008, 17:32 GMT, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Sept 29, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Water Supply and Water Drainage Board today urged the public to consume water resources sparingly due to the severe drought prevailing in the country.

The Water Board stated that it receives many complaints from in and around Colombo, especially from areas on high ground and away from water tanks on the supply of water on low pressure levels.

The Board pointed out that this situation has occurred due to the public using drinking tap water for other purposes such as washing cars, clothes and watering plants.

The Water Board urged that drinking water which is supplied to the public at a great cost to the state should be used in a cautious manner.
