* Government warns NGOs remaining in Wanni of cancelling their visa

Sept 29, Colombo: Ministry of Disaster Management and Human Rights today warned of cancelling the visas of any remaining international non-governmental organisation (INGO) failed to vacate from Wanni district.

The time given to all non-governmental organizations and international NGOs to withdraw from LTTE-held areas of northern Sri Lanka ended yesterday.

Minister of Disaster Management and Human Rights, Mahinda Samarasinghe addressing a media gathering just a short while ago said the remaining agencies will face cancellation of visa and will be forced to leave the country.

“The Government of Sri Lanka will not recognize the remaining agencies involved in humanitarian efforts,” Minister stated.
