Sept 28, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Meteorology Department on Friday warned of more cyclonic effects from October to November with the beginning of inter-monsoon weather and cyclone season.
A spokesman for the Met Department said that the bad weather would probably extend to the first half of December.
Spokesman said that according to the World Meteorology Standards more than ten percent of life and property damage could be avoided if necessary changes are made heeding weather forecasting warnings.
