Sept 02, Colombo: A group of Tamil Tiger rebels ambushed Special Task Force personnel on a patrol in Eastern Sri Lanka today killing two soldiers, the Media Center for National Security said.

The STF personnel were patrolling along the Okanda Road in Kudumbigala Panama in the Amapara district when they were attacked.

Two soldiers, one from the civil security force and one from the STF succumbed to their injuries while being taken to the hospital.
