Sept 21, Colombo: This is an ancient rock temple found in an unreachable jungle area of Deegalla, located seven kilometers from Mathugama. There is an old statue of Lord Buddha in sleeping posture inside the rock cave. Archaeological research has not been conducted in the area and people believe that the temple belongs to the period of King Weediye Bandara, who had his kingdom in the area in the 15th century.
