Oct 09, Colombo: Palestinian President Dr. Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Sri Lanka this evening on a two-day official visit. This is the first visit of a Palestinian president to Sri Lanka.

Palestinian President was warmly welcomed by Sri Lanka Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa with a guard of honor at the airport. In his two-day visit Dr. Abbas will hold bilateral discussions with his Sri Lankan counterpart President Mahinda Rajapaksa and several government ministers. Sri Lankan government said the visit of the Palestinian President will extend the ties between Sri Lanka and Palestine furthermore.
