Oct 09, Colombo: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Sri Lanka this evening on a two-day official visit. This is the first visit of a Palestinian president to Sri Lanka.
According sources at the Bandaranaike International Air Port in Katunayake, Palestinian President was warmly welcomed with a guard of honor at the airport.
In his two-day visit Abbas will hold bilateral discussions with his Sri Lankan counterpart President Mahinda Rajapaksa and several government ministers.
Sri Lankan government said the visit of the Palestinian President will extend the ties between Sri Lanka and Palestine furthermore.
