Oct 08, Colombo: Leader of the Opposition, Ranil Wickremasinghe yesterday pointed the finger at government for not providing necessary security for the opening of the office of late Major General Janaka Perera.
Opposition Leader today tabling the letter sent requesting Police assistance for the opening of the office of the Opposition Leader of the North Central Province questioned, with the letter being sent to the Police, why the necessary security was not provided for the event.
“In the same letter it has been requested to permit using of a public addressing system. It is also a question how this suicide bomber was not detected after forces conducting a massive search operation in Anuradhapura several days back. Therefore, we are not in favor of a local investigation and seek international intervention,” he said.
