* Former rebel deputy of Sri Lanka to be a Minister?

Oct 08, Colombo: Sources close to Sri Lanka government say that the Tamil rebel breakaway leader Vinayagamurthi Muralitharan alias Karuna Amman who swore in yesterday as a member of parliament will assume duty as a minister soon.

Karuna is rumored to be given a Ministry pertaining to the development of the Eastern Province, sources said.

Karuna Amman is the leader of Tamil People's Liberation Tigers (TMVP).
