* Four decomposed bodies recovered from jungles in Anuradhapura district

Oct 08, Colombo: Four decomposed bodies belonged to an Army soldier, a Civil Defense Force personnel and two Sinhalese civilians, were recovered from a jungle hut in Horowpathana in Anuradhapura district.

Reportedly the soldier was on leave and had gone to the jungle with two others on September 29.

A T-56 rifle and four magazines belonged to the Civil Defense Force personnel have gone missing.

All the bodies except the corpse of the Civil Defense Force personnel were in a highly decomposed state. Police believe the Civil Defense Force personnel had been killed later than the others.

Postmortems were conducted this morning in Anuradhapura hospital. Police are conducting investigations.
