* Head and parts of the body of the suicide bomber under probe in Sri Lanka

Oct 07, Colombo: Sri Lanka Police sources say the head and parts of the body believed to be of the suicide bomber in yesterday's attack have been recovered from the scene of the crime.

The suspected Tamil Tiger suicide bomber blew himself up killing 27 persons including retired major General Janaka Perera, the Opposition Leader of the North Central Provincial Council.

Sarath Dissanayake, the Opposition Leader of the Thalawa Pradeshiya Sabha said that he eye witnessed a black clad short man coming close to Mr. Janaka Perera and blowing himself.

Some other eyewitnesses have said that the killer had a limp, police sources say. Police Spokesman SSP Ranjith Gunasekara said that the killing had the trademark of the LTTE.

Police are continuing further investigations to ascertain facts.
