Oct 06, Colombo: The Center for the Development of Tamil Artists presented President Mahinda Rajapaksa with a memento today to honor the recognition the President brought to the Tamil-speaking world by speaking in Tamil for the first time at the United Nations.

Representatives of the Center presented the memento at a gathering at the Temple Trees this evening. Ministers A.H.M. Fowzie, Douglas Devananda, Dullas Alahaperuma, P. Radhakrishnan, Vadivel Puttirasigamani, Suresh Vadivel, Governor Alavi Moulana, Advisor to the President A.H.M. Azwar, and P. Hassim Omar were present at the occasion.
