* Sri Lanka to implement the Electricity Board Act in November

Oct 05, Colombo: Government of Sri Lanka has decided to implement the much awaited Ceylon Electricity Board Act from next month.

Minister of Power and Energy, W.D.J. Senaviratne addressing a gathering today in Colombo said the Act was delayed due to the proposals made by the activists, public, and the employees of the Ceylon Electricity Board.

’ “We have amended the Act as per the proposals and will be implemented from November onwards. This Act is targeting the speculative selling off of the Ceylon Electricity Board,” he said.
