Saturday, October 4, 2008, 5:44 GMT, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Oct 04, Colombo: Sri Lanka government has decided to expel an Italian native working for the Netherlands based ZOA, a non-governmental organization registered for refugee care.

Reportedly when the government ordered the NGOs to vacate the rebel held areas, the project manager of ZOA in Sri Lanka has decided to stay behind to fight alongside with the LTTE. However, he has later returned to Vavuniya and was prevented from going back to the un-liberated areas and is to be expelled from Sri Lanka for not honoring the Government of Sri Lanka and its decision.

Earlier the Dutch NGO was suspected of running a hospital for the LTTE at its Stanley Base in the East that was overrun by the Special Task Force troops in January 2007.
