Oct 31, Colombo: Sri Lanka Minister of Ports and Aviation, Chamal Rajapaksa yesterday laid foundation for the construction of a tele-cinema village in Raniminithenna in Hambanthota district in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka.
The government expects to spend 1.2 billion rupees for the project in five stages to build the tele-cinema village that will comprise state-of-the-art studios, sets, lodging for artistes etc. in a 235 acre land.
Minister of Information and Media Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, President's Adviser and veteran actor Ravindra Randeniya, musician Rohana Weerasinghe and other distinguished guests participated in the ceremony.
