Oct 31, Colombo: Sri Lankan government has decided to tighten the security for water catchment areas in the country with immediate effect.

Power and Energy Ministry announced that this decision was taken on the advice of the Defence Ministry. The Ministry has decided to obtain police and Army assistance for the process.

The Ministry will also tighten the security for electrical transformers and all the other electricity producing projects in the country.

Power and Energy Ministry has asked the general public to pay more attention to suspicious persons or activities and inform the authorities.
