Oct 31, Kurunegala: One of the vehicles of Eastern Chief Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan's convoy had met with an accident at Gokarella, northeast of Kurunegala along the Dambulla-Kurunagala road last night.

The Chief Minister Chandrakanthan has escaped unhurt and the convoy had proceeded while the vehicle met with the accident was left behind, police said.

Police said high speed of the convoy caused the accident.
