* Kuwait government helps overstaying Sri Lankans to come back

Oct 15, Colombo: Government of Kuwait has agreed to provide air tickets for the Sri Lankans illegally staying in the country to go back to their homeland.

According to Foreign Ministry sources, 200 air tickets will be given free of charge under this scheme apart from the 2,000 air tickets sponsored by the Government of Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, Foreign Employment Bureau speaking to the overstayed Sri Lankans has unveiled many cases of harassments and inhumane punishments along with illegal detaining of passports and other travel documents which has led to this overstay in Kuwait.
